Sloth Bear Sanctuary in desperate need of conservation

Mount Abu might lose one of its natural habitats for Sloth bears if nothing is done at the earliest. Though the Wildlife Sanctuary laws give enough legal protections and leaves ample space for conservation, the ground reality is far from satisfactory. Incidences of bear families wandering in and around residential ares are on a rise which creates more fear and anger on both sides.

On the lines of Tiger Projects across India, Mount Abu should be given its due share and ought to be taken seriously. The Valmiki Tiger Reserve project undertaken by Bihar Government to promote ecotourism is a good example.

Preserve Nature, adopt a Tree.
